Located approximately nine miles off-shore south of Rhode Island main, Block Island is a tourist destination which is home to two historic lighthouses. North Lighthouse, located on Sandy Point, was built in 1867. This painting depicts this site from off-shore to the north, and it features BI visitors happily wandering the beach for untold seaside treasure.
